The BATTLE SPADE
« BÚT CHÌ »

 

 

 

 

 

       The « Battle Spade - Bút Chì » is a Particuliar Arme, which belongs to the category of Rigid Arms, forming part of Pole-Arms, originating from the « shovel with flat blade », truthly dreadful : it owns the possibility to give battle as nearby as from a distance by throwing it and by bringing it back, thanks to a long cord of many fathoms, tied to the heel of the Battle Spade. It is a weapon invented from vietnamese peasant villages already a long time ago.
       This is a specific weapon to the northern region of Việt-Nam.

 

 

    

 

The Wielding Method of

« Battle Spade »

( Bút Chì )

 

       The using method of « Battle Spade - Bút Chì », ie. Ngọn Mai (the Showel with flat blade) doesn't differ from the War Paddle - Mái Chèo from coastal regions of Việt-Nam, but the characteristic point it is that there is a cord, of many fathoms long, and whom one end is tied to the Heel of the War Paddle and the other end on the wrist of the left hand holding the jupe of the Battle Spade, while the right hand holds the part of shaft nearby the Heel of the Battle Spade.

       It is there a weapon which requests a long-drawn-out training for being able to wielding it with dexterity and above all to throwing it with precision. Nevertheless, for Martial Student having learned the using of War Paddle - Mái Chèo, the training for the « War Battle-Spade - Bút Chì » wielding has always more facilities.
